Visual Field Testing

Your visual field refers to the area in which you can see, including your peripheral vision. A Visual Field Test is used to help determine any loss of vision and is a useful aid in diagnosing diseases. Based on the findings of your Annual Eye Health Evaluation, Dr. Gramanzini may determine that it is necessary to check for any loss of your visual field, or monitor any loss of vision previously diagnosed. Also, certain medications and medical conditions can affect your field of vision, so it may be necessary to monitor any possible ocular effects on a regular basis.

The Visual Field Test is usually completed in 20-30 minutes.
Since the Visual Field Test in non-invasive, there are no associated risks or complications.
As the Visual Field Test is used in the diagnosis of medical conditions, the test is usually covered by your Medical Insurance. Vision Plans generally do not cover this testing. Family Eye Center accepts many Medical Insurance Plans. Simply provide your insurance plan information to our staff to verify your benefits.
